35 affordable new homes coming to Chippenham
Homes for the South West member GreenSquare Homes has been given the go ahead to build 35 new homes in Chippenham, after being granted planning permission by Wiltshire Council.
Building work is expected to begin later this year to build the 35 affordable homes on land at Middlefields, just off Hungerdown Lane in the town. These will include 25 houses and 10 flats, which will be a mix of properties for affordable rent and shared ownership.
Alongside the residential development, supermarket chain Lidl has been given the green light to build a food store with associated car parking at the site.
Barry Wood, MD of Development at GreenSquare, said: “We are delighted to have the go-ahead for this development and we are looking forward to getting started on construction later in the year.
“This entire development, which is set to offer both affordable housing and a popular supermarket chain, will undoubtedly be a big asset for the town.
“And with house prices continuing to rise in the area, we are pleased to be able to offer a mix of homes to cater for a range of lifestyles – from those looking for a way to get on the housing ladder, to households in need of affordable rent homes.”
GreenSquare Homes is the development arm of GreenSquare Group.
