Works start at new Plymouth housing development

Building work has started at a new development in Plymouth which will provide 38 new homes.

The former Quarryfields site, off Tamerton Foliot Road in Crownhill, Plymouth, is a joint venture between Plymouth Community Homes Regeneration Company (PCHRC) and Halsall Homes (HH).

The scheme will have 27 homes for sale, six for shared ownership sale through SO Living and five for affordable rent with PCH.

PCHRC Chief Executive John Clark and Halsall Homes’ Simon Jenvey visited the site to officially break the ground and view the progress so far.

The first new homes are expected to be available for occupation early next year and the scheme will complete later in the year.

The homes will be built by Halsall Construction and sold by the sales agent Bradleys on behalf of PCHRC and HH.

HH is the development arm of award-winning South West-based contractor Halsall Construction, who are involved in projects across the region building schools, care homes and other educational facilities.

Their most recent win was a Health and Safety ROSPA Gold award for the fifth consecutive year.

PCHRC is the development arm of Plymouth Community Homes and its profits from the proceeds of sales from these homes will be used to invest in further homes and services for PCH residents.

The development will see a large area of woodland adjacent to the site retained, enhanced and ultimately passed to the city council to manage, thereby securing its future for the enjoyment of local residents.

John Clark said: “This is a great location for families, close to woodland and the hustle and bustle of the city centre with fantastic views across the Tamar to Cornwall.”

Simon Jenvey said: “We are all pleased to be making a start on this development that we are sure will provide a superb lifestyle for those who choose to live here.”

The first homes have now been released to the market by Bradleys Estate Agents (01752 260400).
