Work starts to build new homes in Somerset village
Construction is underway to build 36 new homes at Cherry Pie Meadow, Sparkford.
The development is a joint partnership between the South West’s largest housing association and Homes for the South West member, LiveWest, and Lovell Homes.
There will be a mixture of two, three, four-bedroom homes and bungalows.
As part of the development, four of the homes are allocated for shared ownership and eight for affordable rent with the remainder earmarked for outright sale.
Jason Walker, Development Manager for LiveWest, said: “We are delighted that work is underway at this stunning location.
“With significant demand for housing across the region, our primary focus as an organisation is to deliver new homes, with a focus on affordable homes.
“This development will be important to give local people an opportunity to rent or buy an affordable home.
“It is great to be working with Lovell Homes on this development and it will be fantastic to see new residents move in come the Autumn.”
A new show home will be unveiled in the summer and the first residents are expected to move into their new homes in the winter, with the bulk of the homes completed early next year.
Andrew Johnston, Regional Managing Director at Lovell, said: “This will be a stunning, exclusive development in a highly desirable part of the county.
“We are already receiving considerable interest from local people and have taken seven reservations.
“It is a good time to reserve and take advantage of being able to personalise your home.”
