New partnership will see more homes on the way for Plymouth

Homes for the South West member, Plymouth Community Homes, and Halsall Homes have joined forces to gain planning permission and purchase land to develop 38 new homes in Plymouth.

The two organisations have entered into a joint venture to develop the site formerly known as Quarryfields in Crownhill.

The scheme, which will be known as Silver Hill, will have 27 homes for sale through Bradleys estate agents.

Work is expected to start at the site, off Tamerton Foliot Road, in March with the first foundations due to be dug in April.

The first new homes are expected to be available for occupation by the end of the year and the scheme will complete next year.

In line with Plymouth City Council’s affordable housing policy, the development will provide much-needed housing for local families in one of Plymouth’s most popular suburbs. Six homes will be available for shared ownership sale through SO Living and five for affordable rent from PCH.

The homes will be built and sold by PCH Regeneration Company, which is the development arm of PCH. Proceeds of sales from these homes will be used to invest in further homes and services for residents in Plymouth.

The development will see a large area of woodland adjacent to the site retained, enhanced and ultimately passed to the city council to manage, thereby securing its future for the enjoyment of local residents.

PCH Development Manager Craig Francis said: “It’s great that we can announce work is due to start soon at this development, which sits at the heart of one of the most popular and well-connected residential areas in Plymouth.

“We’re looking forward to working with the award-winning Halsall Homes, who have a track record of delivering successful projects throughout the South West.”

Simon Jenvey, of Halsall Homes, added: “It’s great to have struck this deal with PCH Regen given their prominence in the city as a housing provider and we are both looking forward to delivering quality homes on the scheme.”
